T Minus "a few weeks" until Cyclocross Season starts...

It has been a long time since I have last blogged.   With Cyclocross (CX) season fast approaching, I figured I'd better get my Blog up and running again.

Let's start with cyclocross defined:

Cyclo-cross (sometimes cyclocross, CX, CCX, cyclo-X or 'cross) is a form of bicycle racing. Races typically take place in the autumn and winter (the international or "World Cup" season is October–February), and consist of many laps of a short (2.5–3.5  km or 1.5–2  mile) course featuring pavement, wooded trails, grass, steep hills and obstacles requiring the rider to quickly dismount, carry the bike while navigating the obstruction and remount.^[1][2] Races for senior categories are generally between 30 minutes and an hour long, with the distance varying depending on the ground conditions. The sport is strongest in the traditional road cycling countries such as Belgium (Flanders in particular), France and the Netherlands.

This year I plan to stay closer to home with maybe one or two "away" races up in New England...

For those who are around 9/21 or 9/22, I strongly encourage you to come out and check out the Charm City Cyclocross event put on by my team Twenty20 Cycling.  The Elite Women (me) race at 2:30P  and the Elite Men @ 3:30P.   There'll be Food Trucks from the Gathering as well as awesome beer from Union Mills Brewery.  It really is quite a scene and I always appreciate the extra support and heckling from folks I know...
